CONTRACT 1. The buyer agrees to sign an AKC limited registration contract [nonbreeding].
2.
The buyer understands that the majority of our pups go to companion
level homes. In some circumstances, a show breeding pup is available
with a special terms contract.
3. The buyer agrees to have
the pup examined by his/her vet within 3 business days of purchase. If
the vet determines the pup is in poor health, the pup may be returned
with AKC papers and written proof from the vet of the reason for poor
health. In turn, the breeder will issue a full refund. The breeder will
not be responsible for any vet or other costs incurred by the buyer
after the pup has left the seller’s premises. Deadline is 2 wks. 4.Health
guarantee of the breeder to the buyer is: The puppy will be free of any
genetic related disease from date of final purchase until pup is two
years. Proof of diagnosis must be done by two non related vets. If
diagnosed, the breeders guarantee is to replace the affected puppy with
another puppy when available. The first puppy the buyer purchased may
be either returned to the breeder at the buyers expense or retained by
the buyer. 5. The buyer agrees to enroll the pup in a kindergarten
class and or a beginning obedience class. Through out the dogs life,
the buyer agrees to continue socialization, playful stimulation, and
adequate exercise. Obedience, rally, field trials, agility, hunting,
sports, trail riding, service or therapy tasks are highly encouraged to
keep your dog active and fit. These are smart dogs, they like mental
stimulation like hide and seek, challenging toys, and tasks to do. 6.The pup will be provided a fenced running area, kept inside at night, receive vet supervised care, and regular grooming. 7.
The buyer agrees to follow the breeder’s feeding schedule and brand
without changing the diet until at least 2 wks. After that, if
switching food, the buyer agrees to purchase a high quality kibble. You
do not need to use puppy kibble. We use one of the highest quality
kibbles out there, Innova Adult, green bag, conveniently found in most
pet supply stores. Even a high quality kibble, does not contain all the
nutrients throughout your dogs life. Modified raw diet, homecooked
food, and supplements are highly encouraged under the supervision of a
nutrition vet. Like people, dogs need an excellent diet to maintain
their health. We hope careful attention to your pets diet will ensure
many years of enjoyment with your new puppy. 8. There is an optimum
time to spay/neuter your pup. It is between 9-12 mos. of age. The buyer
agrees to these terms. The breeder requests new owner notifies us, when
they have spay/neutered their dog. 9. If for any reason, the pup
must be placed in a new home, the buyer agrees to immediately contact
the breeder. The breeder recognizes that occasionally situations occur
and a pup may do better in a different home. The breeder will work with
the buyer in finding a new, quality home. During this process, the
breeder cannot bring the dog back into their home, but will work with
the owners in a timely, sensitive process, to find the best new home.
The breeder will determine the selling price of the dog. The breeder
also will receive half the amount of money from the sale of the dog.
The buyer or the buyer's estate/executors agree to not sell or transfer
ownership of their pup without the breeder's knowledge AND written
consent. 10. The prefex Ravenswood will be used on the AKC registration form. 11.
Buyer agrees to allow Ravenswood to use comments and first names of
past buyers in the website section titled, comments from past buyers . 12.
The buyer understands the purchase price includes, AKC registration
papers, a three generation pedigree, written results of temperament and
conformation testing, first vet health check, first immunizations,
microchip insertion fee, and worming medicine costs. It does not
include microchip paperwork fee or AKC new owner registration fee. The
buyer agrees to complete the registration of their new puppy with the
AKC, this can be done easily on line and the fee varies from 20 to 35
dollars [2007] depending on what package you want. The buyer agrees to
notify the breeder when AKC registration is complete. 13. Standard
poodles are considered a large breed dog. It may be assumed that a
large breed puppy with lots of energy needs plenty of exercise. But
frequent, strenuous exercise such as repetitive jumping, long trail
hikes, long walks, running along side a bike in a dog under two years
can be a contributing factor to hip dysplasia. Atrophy to the hips can
occur from strenuous exercise, rather than from a genetic factor. Your
pups muscular and skeletal systems [muscles, bones, and growth plates]
are still developing up until 24 mos. Therefore, the buyer agrees to
abide by moderate exercise standards until the dog is at least two
years of age. The breeder would not be responsible for hip breakdown
caused from strenuous exercise in a still developing puppy. 14. If
puppy is being shipped , buyer pays for all costs related to shipping
such as crate, health certificate, bank wiring, land travel, and
airfare. The balance on shipping puppies must be received by the end of
the 7th wk payable by cashiers check or money order. If not, then the
deposit is forfeited and the contract void. 15. Balance of puppy
cost is payable in cash, cashiers check, or money order on puppy
pick-up day. No checks or credit cards please . Deposits, held with a
check are acceptable. The deposit, secures the buyer a Ravenswood
poodle puppy and is nonrefundable. 16. Once a deposit is received
on a puppy, pup must be picked up by the end of the 9th week. We will
board back puppies for a short time at 60 dollars per week from
beginning of the 10th wk to the end of the 11th week. If puppy isn’t
picked up by end of the 11th wk. deposit is forfeited and contract
void. 17. The breeder will provide to the buyer a sound, happy,
and well adjusted puppy. The breeder has provided proof of acceptable
test results on the parent’s hips[OFA or Penn], eyes, DNA
[VonWillebrand’s], and skin [S.A.] at puppy pick-up time, or before, if
requested. 18. The buyer understands that final puppy/owner matches
will be determined after the temperament testing at 7 wks. The buyer
may come visit us, see the mom, and puppies at 5 weeks. We will honor
gender preference. 19. Upon receival of deposit from the buyer, breeder will provide receipt back to the buyer. Breeder,
buyer signatures indicate that he, she, or they have read, understood,
and agree to abide by all conditions in the contract. _________________________________________ ________________ Buyer Date _________________________________________ ________________ Buyer Date _________________________________________ ________________ Breeder Date
